What Happened and What Information Was Involved:
Mercyhurst is an accredited, four-year university located in Erie, Pennsylvania.
On November 8, 2022, Mercyhurst began notifying consumers that earlier in 2022, Mercyhurst discovered suspicious activity in their systems environment.
Mercyhurst's investigation determined that there was unauthorized access to Mercyhurst's environment between January 16, 2022, and May 15, 2022. The investigation also determined that an unauthorized actor had the ability to access certain information stored on their network during this time period.
