The non-profit organization welcomes an award-winning expert in population and development, reproductive health, family planning and HIV/AIDS.
CARLSBAD, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 27, 2023 / Catalyst Global, an international non-profit organization committed to increasing access to critical sexual and reproductive health (SRH) products and services in low- and middle-income countries, announced a new board member today, Dr. Jotham Musinguzi.
Dr. Musinguzi brings a unique perspective as both a Public Health Physician and current Director General of Uganda's National Population Council. He specializes in the areas of population and development, reproductive health, family planning and HIV/AIDS.

He played a major role in drafting the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo in 1994, and was actively involved in negotiations on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In 2013, Dr. Musinguzi received the United Nations Population Prize from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the UN headquarters in New York in recognition of his outstanding work to promote the ICPD principle that reproductive health must be a key component of any general strategy of social and economic development.

He also served as a Trustee and on a number of Boards of Directors including Women Deliver, PSI, RHSC, Guttmacher Institute, the Commonwealth Medical Trust of London, and others.
