Heart disease patients will now have access to home-based rehab throughout the health system's Louisiana service area
NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / March 28, 2023 / Recora today announced its partnership with Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System to launch virtual cardiac rehabilitation for the Baton Rouge community. The program will expand access for heart disease patients from one of the largest health systems in Louisiana, which provides care to nearly half of the state's citizens, allowing them to recover from home in a virtual environment.
'Partnering with Recora's virtual cardiac rehab program aligns our system's mission to provide high-quality care and compassion to all people,' said Dr. Steven Gremillion, cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer, FMOLHS. 'By delivering home-based cardiac rehab, our patients will benefit from best-in-class technology to help them recover from a cardiac event. Increasing exposure to cardiac rehab and streamlining the process for patients to engage in the program creates more opportunities for our community to live long, healthy lives.'
The virtual cardiac rehab program is scheduled to initially launch with Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, which currently includes a center-based cardiac rehab facility. OLOL treats over 38,000 inpatients and 820,000 outpatients annually and is consistently awarded for compassionate care, clinical expertise, leading-edge technology, and innovation.
Recora will provide virtual tools for FMOLHS' patients that can be accessed from the comfort of their own home, removing issues patients often face with transportation and scheduling, along with on-demand support from care teams, 24/7 chat, and additional resources available throughout the program.
Recora's partnership with FMOLHS furthers its advancement across health systems throughout the Southeast region of the U.S., adding to relationships with providers in Florida and Georgia in recent months.
'It is a pleasure for our team to deliver virtual cardiac recovery with a leading provider like FOMLHS,' said Recora CEO Abhishek Chandra. 'Virtual cardiac rehab is opening the door for so many heart disease patients who were not aware that a rehab program existed to help them recover or do not have the resources available to attend sessions regularly in person. This is a tremendous opportunity for eligible patients in Louisiana to maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle that extends their lives many more years.'
